USES OF SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE

Tenses i.e. Present ,Past and Future have their different uses connecting with the four forms. In English, as per (Affirmative, Negative, Interrogative, Interrogative Negative) sentences, the following are the uses of different tenses.

 FUTURE TENSE



Future tense is refers to the future time of the verbs. It is classified in to four forms:


1. Simple Future or Future Indefinite
2. Future continuous or Future Progressive 
3. Future Perfect
4. Future Perfect Continuous / Progressive 

                        Structure


1.SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE (INDEFINITE)
1.1. Structure of Affirmative sentences:
            [ Subject +will / shall+ v-1 first form of verb + object. ]
 e.g.;

 I shall hit the ball.
 She will go to the station.
 Hari will drive a car.
 You will write a letter.
 They will play badminton.
 Sita sings a song.
 He writes a story.
 Reena will speak English language.
 She will drive the car carefully.
 He will go to market. 

1.2. Structure of Negative sentences:
        [ Subject + shall not or will not + v-1(first form of the verb) + object ]
e.g.;


 I shall not / shan't write well.
 He will not / won't complain to his teacher.
 Raaj will not / won't play basketball.
They will not / won't go to the church.
 Reeta will not / won't attend online classes.
 It will not / won't work properly.
 We will not / won't sing a song.

1.3. Structure of Interrogative sentences:
      [ Shall / Will + Subject + first form of verb + object ? ]
e.g.;  


 Shall I play cricket?
 Shall we speak the truth?
 Will you sing well?
 Will he write?
 Will she run?
 Will Prachi dance?
 Will it move?
 Will they steal?

1.4. Structure of Interrogative Negative sentences:
    i. [ Shall / Will + subject + not + v-1 + object? ] or
   ii. [ Shan't + Won't + subject + v-1 + object? ]
e.g.;


 Will he not write? or Won't he write?
 Shall I not speak? or Shan't I speak?
 Will they not work? or won't they work?
 Will it not move? or won't it move?

 USE OF SIMPLE FUTURE TENSE IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS : 


Simple Future tense is used to express:

1. Describe such habitual actions that will take place in usual course:

  The boys will play.
  They will come here.
  He will drive the car.

2. Used in sentences containing clauses of condition and time:

  I shall go to school, if it doesn't rain.
  He will go to Sambalpur as he comes.
  We shall move as soon as the taxi arrives.

3. Use of 'going to' form for future actions:

  He is going to meet Reeta at the railway station.
  I am going to watch the movie.

4. Use of 'about to' for future actions:

  The bus is about to leave.
  The Prime Minister is about to speak.

5. Use of present simple tense for future actions: (plan and programme)

  The President visits Sambalpur tomorrow.

6. Use of 'to be' form of verb for future actions:

  I have to go to hospital.
  She is to write a letter.
  They have to complete the task.
